If you read the description above and expected this booklet to offer tips on refining your Zarrow shuffle, you will be disappointed. I overlooked the subtitle — EVERYTHING BUT THE ZARROW. Beyond the Z offers alternatives to the Zarrow, not refinements or improvements.

  • Shane asks: If I don’t know the Zarrow- will this teach it from scratch?

    • 1. Steve answers: Shane, you would learn the Zarrow on the Z. video. Beyond the Z teaches other kinds if false shuffles that use the cover grip from the Z. Having a grounding in the Z. video is a good start.

  • Michael asks: Any chance that "Beyond the Z" will be released in video format? I hope so. I learn complicated procedures far better by looking at a video than I do by looking at a group/series of still pictures...and then trying to interpolate the minute details in getting from one picture to the next picture in the series. Thanks for the information.

    • 4. Jeff answers: To Michael, Hey now, don't give up on written manuscripts ... As with any written manuscript, you have to read the copy as well as follow along if there are any photos. Photos refer to spots where the writer feels the need to show the corresponding move (s) that may be far too "wordy" to describe in writing or too confusing and the photos reference the move(s) and the copy usually is a step by step of procedural instructions, not always though because some manuscripts are very poorly written and some are written outstandingly great. It may take a bit longer to understand exactly what is happening in a written manuscript but, if the effect is to your liking and you take the time to comprehend what has been written, you won't forget the effect too soon and you probably will figure out a different way to do the entire effect or create a new effect by the time you are finished with the manuscript.
