Magic download (video) by Asi Wind (29.95)

Constructed from years of trial and error, Asi's Any Card at Any Number is a masterpiece of modern-day magic.

The effect is suitable for both close-up and stage with a method that is nearly impossible to reconstruct. It can be performed surrounded and may be repeated with no additional setup required. Only an ordinary deck of cards is used. Nothing else.

What we love most about this effect is that Asi has taken a classic plot in card magic (Any Card at Any Number) and combined it with his background in mentalism to construct a routine that when viewed in performance seems like so much more than ā€œjustā€ a card trick. AACAAN is an interactive performance piece that will make your reputation!

Immediately after purchase you will receive access to our exclusive 30 minute explanation, on video for the first time ever. Learn the method in detail from Asi Wind along with several alternative presentational ideas.

Asi has honed his handling of the ACAAN plot over many years and many methods. Like most incredible ACAAN methods, this does requireĀ someĀ memorization - what you'll need to memorizeĀ is listed at the end of the explanation.

As part of our Community Captions project, the explanation video for this download has optional English subtitles.

My favorite version of this effect. Not the easiest to learn and/or do but you end clean. I like how Asi has made this effect suitable for parlor.

His instruction is clear and broken out into different segments covering the various skills you need to acquire.

The construction of the method allows one to present this in such a way that the number and card are named when the deck is in its box and apparently you never touch the cards up to the final reveal.

(I'd recommend reading John Born's "Meant to Be" to see other approaches on this line of thought. As well as Kaufman's amazing book "The Berglas Effects." )

I had been debating doing mem deck work for years. I just don't like most of the routines that people do with it. However, when I saw this trick it motivated me to finally learn mnemonica. This is an incredibly strong ACAAN and appears as if the magician never touches the deck. The actually slight of hand involved is pretty easy. The hard part is that you really need to know your mem deck in both directions to be able to do this under pressure. However, this is a very STRONG effect in situations where you can swap in a stacked deck.

The perfect trick does excist and it is this one

Wow, what trick. It is the perfect A.C.A.A.N trick and you can build a wonderfull story around it.

Asi Wind does teach you everything you need to know but you have to really put in the work. You have to learn and memorise the technique and you have to keep working with it. But it is worth every minute or hour you put in.

It is the perfect trick and it will amaze everyone.

This is one amaizing trick. Like i knew everything about how it needs to be done before but the trick got me into mnemonica. I was lazy so i used the si stebbins stack but it took so long to get to the result ( check whatā€™s si stebbins stack if you donā€™t know to understand ) and Iā€™m GOOD at maths. So slightwise itā€™s not worth it for me because I basically knew everything before buying but the attitude, presentation, and getting me to use mnemonica ( I practiced the first 13 cards for 15 minutes and it was a LOT faster ) was more than worth it. I loved this trick and hope to see some great reactions. ??

This is a very good CAAN better named as AACAAN as there are so many out there this is definitely one of the best Asi teaches it very well and goes through everything in detail the one thing I would say is to be able to perform this you will have to learn a stack deck which is well worth it as there are so many mind blowing effects you can do with it and this is certainly one of them so I highly recommend this as it is not difficult to learn and you will always use it.

Fantastic. The routine is wonderful. The move is beautifully simple and under the radar. Wind covers every detail, from audience management to helpful tips around the mental arithmetic. As long as you are confident with your stack then I would recommend jumping into this. It will take some practice, you'll be doing familiar actions under slightly unorthodox conditions but this is not knuckle busting stuff. Once you've got it down you can focus on the presentation, which is of course covered as well. Highly recommended.

This effect is one of my favorite effects to watch, and now to perform. The plot and method is so clean and beautiful, memorizing Mnemonica is so complex and demanding that even the most sophisticated audience will be fooled. Every single time.

I love the Asi Wind's rendition - it's elegant just like anything else he does.

I love the fact that you can do this trick over and over to the same person, and still get amazing reactions. That made practicing this routine in front of my wife way more fun, every single time.

It is a bit complicated for me when I need to do quick simple math in my head. I need to warm up good before I can preform this one to an unfamiliar audience. Luckily for me - Asi's routine allow me to take the time, making sure I'm not rushing when I don't need to. After all this effect is almost entirely done in the magician's head - so taking the time is fine, because you don't look like you do any fancy sleight of hand.

The truth is, even when I know how it works - I'm still amazed when I do that one.

Thank you Asi, and thank you Juan :)

This is such a powerful effect. Spectator chooses any card and with no switches or subterfuge, it appears at their chosen number. Super clean. But like most great effects, it requires work. You'll need to have a memorized deck and learn a simple but bold sleight. It also requires a bit of mental agility.

Any great effect requires investment of time and practice. For me, this effect prompted me to delve further into memorized decks and master false cuts and false shuffles.

I can't recommend this effect more highly. Asi Wind's instructions are so clear - he's a great educator. I also appreciated the live performances, both close-up and stage, so we can see how this works in real life.

Cannot recommend this effect more highly.

The video and teaching are thorough and complete. The effect does take some additional knowledge and training to create this miracle. Asi Wind adds his personal touches to make the effect even more seemingly impossible. With a few hours of practice and some pretraining, you can do this wonderful effect.

I LOVE this trick!
It is absolutely amazing and is worth every cent. It really is the best ACAAN effect out there and so adding this to your repertoire will be worth all of the effort and time.
Only thing I would add is that you should not add this if you are new to magic and ideally buy thus trick once you have memorised a stack, but otherwise, a brilliant trick.

Reviewer

Todd

This effect is exactly as shown in the demo. And I mean exactly. It is hard to believe he gets the selected card at the number stated in what you watch, but the camera is in fact burning his hands when he does the secret move. It is not hard, but is very deceptive because it is structured incredibly well. At $24, this is a steal. You do have to learn a stack, but that is it. The rest is in the performance.

Reviewer

As mentioned, the method here is very similar to that taught in John Born's "Meant to Be" book, but Asi Wind's handlings and explanations take this from what I thought was very difficult to not so difficult. It's not dead easy either and will require practice as all tricks do, but I'm going to put the work in this time.

I see comments here asking about how to get around the memorized deck requirement for this like with cribs, etc. Why get around it? Just memorize a stack. I'm 68 and just memorized the Joyal stack ("The Six Hour Memorized Deck") without any difficulty whatsoever and I'm giving my highest recommendation to that stack. Here's why I like it better than others even though there are no built-in tricks (which I don't care about). The Joyal stack is rule based with only 14 rules to memorize. I don't need to picture Martha Stewart fixing an old Buick which connects to a picture of George Washington in a clown suit riding a roller coaster which connects to a picture of Darth Vader whipping a kitten to know that the Jack of spades is 17th. The best thing is that if you happen to forget a card, you can easily and quickly reconstruct what the number must be by recalling the rule (which are just cards and numbers, but easy and logical).
The Joyal stack is so firmly fixed in my brain, that when I go, I'm sure I'll be able to write it down on the inside of my coffin lid. So get AACAAN and don't be afraid.

This version of the ACAAN is not an easy one to master. It will take time and dedication to learn, but with enough practice, you'll leave your spectators in shock.

Reviewer

Benjamin

As far as I'm concerned, this is THE ACAAN. It's unbelievable how clean this is. Asi teaches so many subtleties that really make this a powerful miracle that people will remember you by. You'll have to learn the Mnemonica stack, but I would learn Mnemonica for this effect alone. There's really no drawbacks. It feels like you do nothing, angle issues are pretty much non existent. Gets the spectators involved, they do everything. I have no complaints.

Asi Wind has provided us with yet another beautiful piece, and the utility goes far beyond this. It send the Magic Mind whirling with possibility.

Reviewer

Zachary

Rarely do I call an effect perfect, but Asi's ACAAN is perfection in my book. It meets all of my standards for an ACAAN, and more: No gimmicks, no stooges, no dual reality, freely named card, freely named number, starts and ends clean, useable deck before and after the effect, and much more. I think that it is safe to say that I will never turn to another ACAAN. Granted, this does take a lot of time and practice; for the effect that it achieves, it's completely worth it. As for the production quality and video, I don't have to go into much detail other than saying it's a D&D product. It's good.
Asi's ACAAN is not only par for Asi, but it's better. I might even end this review with the cliche, "Do yourself a favor and get this right now" line because this time, I really mean it. Actually, don't get it. I want as few people performing is as possible. If you put in the work, I promise you will not be disappointed.

Reviewer

Jesse

Asi's working on ACAAN is pure genius. This effect follows the theory that a great magic effect can be explained in fewest and direct words as possible. Spectator names a card, another a number between 1 and 52 and that exact card is at that exact spot. BAM! The work is done by the time the effect begins. It's pure, direct, and impossible.
This effect does take time and effort on your part to make it possible. But that's the fun of magic! I will definitely be working through this one on the daily to perfect the rhythm and natural flow that it needs.

This version of the ACAAN is difficult to master. But when you will be ready to perform it, it will become your favorite trick. I just love it !

I don't want anyone else to purchase this - it's ALL MINE lol

This is stupidly ridiculous (that means extremely wicked) and brilliantly thought out. It's definitely worth the money, in my opinion, and it's clearly explained, detailed, and concise. There are two things you have to learn, but once you do, you'll be glad. However, that being said, I recommend Double Exposure by Asi Wind as well (I purchased these two together) and was the best 20 I've spent on magic indefinitely.

I am a huge fan of the ACAAN plot. This is the best method I have found. It is an incredible effect, and the teaching and instruction is very clear. Asi is very thoughtful in his construction and explanation, and I feel the teaching puts you in good stead.

That being said, as mentioned above, you need something else to make this trick work. But, you should put in the time to develop that ability anyway.

For those interested in the plot, I would also check out John Born's Meant To Be, which uses a similar technique. I think Asi's version is a major step forward, but the Born book is a great discussion of ACAAN plots in general.

Reviewer

I bought this a few months back. The method? Brilliant! This is the answer to all ACAAN, clean, smooth, nothing to hide, ditch, or worry about. It's that powerful. Recently I went to Asi Wind's lecture, and he performed his ACAAN. He did it in many variations, and trust me, it still had me fooled. In fact, I am honored and fortunate enough to be the one who delt down the cards while Asi was performing his ACAAN. What I can say about Asi Wind's work is that he is EXTREMELY familiar with his material, only then does he publish it. This ACAAN can take you anywhere, there are countless of way to perform this. If Asi Wind is reading this, I would like to thank you for creating such original methods to accomplish effects that can fool magicians and laymen alike, hope to see your next lecture in Singapore soon!

Reviewer

Anonymous

I wish I'd seen Asi perform this before I learned it, because I would have been devastatingly fooled. This method for ACAAN is as close to the 'holy grail' as a method will get. A free choice of card AND number. The deck is in the box the whole time, completely ungimmicked, and fully examinable on top of that. The spectators get to hold the deck and deal to the number themselves. There are no sleights. By the time the deck is dumped from the box into the spectator's hands, the pressure is off and the work is done. There are no forces, outs, psychological tricks, gaffs. The method works every single time. And it can literally be ANY card at ANY number.

Sounds impossible, right? It's not. And every single condition I've listed above is 100% fact.

I learned this method originally in Asi's booklet 'Chapter One'. I'm not sure if it's still in print, but if it is, jump on it and get 4 other effects that are just as powerful, direct, well-structured, and strong in effect AND method. However, this ACAAN is worthy of this standalone release and is worth the $20 if you don' t want the booklet or can't find it.

One caveat: The method requires knowledge of a magic principle that many magicians may not have readily as their disposal. It's not something you'll have to search far and wide to find, but it IS something that will require a lot (and I mean a lot) of additional work to get ready if it's not something you already have worked in and ready to go. I can't say more than that, but it's worth warning you of this. However, you may be so freaking excited by this method that you'll be dying to learn this additional principle that, sadly, the video itself doesn't cover (as the principle belongs to someone else and it is not in Asi's right to teach it here).

All of this said: This is the best, cleanest, and most direct method out there. Get it. Now.

This is a masterpiece.

I've performed it a number of times now, and it just kills. So clean, so fair. Looks like you do nothing at all, which is what makes this so strong. So glad Asi finally released his work on ACAAN. Everything is taught in-depth and nothing is glossed over. Multiple times Asi goes over each section of what you need to do to accomplish the effect, so by the end you have a full understanding of the effect, how it works, and all that is left for you to do is practice.

I've looked at just about every ACAAN method ever released, and this is definitely the best one I've ever come across. This is something I don't see myself ever putting down. If you want to perform ACAAN, this is the one. Thank you, Asi.

Wow. I was completely fooled watching the performance of this trick, and I thought the only method for this trick would be some pre-show and a bit of dual reality. Thankfully, I was in for a surprise after watching the explanation. The method is genius, nearly undetectable, and done entirely on the off-beat. This will be great to perform because the reactions one will receive after doing it smoothly will be incredible and worth so much more than the twenty dollars used to purchase this trick. Thank you Asi for your clear teaching and sharing more incredible magic with the magic community.

A brilliantly designed ACAAN. The concept is simple, yet unbelievably smooth. The video demonstrations are well put together and helpfully showcase the different ways to perform the trick. I personally felt that the price was a little high for what is given. If you don't know about Mnemonica, or you haven't practiced Mnemonica much, this ACAAN is far less approachable. So folks who are new to card magic might want to come back to this one at a later time. Regardless, it is a fantastic thing that can really improve a magicians trick arsenal.

Ok, if you are looking for something that does itself and makes you look like a wizard... It doesn't exist. This is an amazing feat, and even if laymen knew how it was done you would still get credit for the amount of work and practice that goes into this routine. Its amazing. I haven't performed it yet, and have been practicing it hard using a little "cheat sheet" to make it work... Buckle down and you will have one of the most powerful pieces of magic there is.

4 out of 5, lost one point for the fact that you aren't informed before hand of what you need to know to perform this.

When I saw this trick, I was dumbstruck. I had no idea how it was done, and I have to say that the method behind it is quite fine. However, I'm disappointed by the misleading in the description.

To perform this effect, one either needs to have previous knowledge of a certain magical technique, or spend over another $50 dollars to learn about it (depending on the source). For a $20 downloadable tutorial for a card trick, I was seriously expecting a full explanation of everything required for the trick. Instead, I received the main sleight involved (which is good, no denying that), and then a major glossing over of what makes the trick work in addition to that slight, as that information is someone else's.

This trick is an application of another technique at it best. That doesn't change how amazing the effect is, but buyers be warned that you may not know what you need to know to perform this effect, and learning the other parts of the trick may be very expensive and time-consuming.

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: Asi goes in-depth on the technique and provides close-up camera angles which really help with learning the routine.
  • Charlie asks: 2 things: i see reviews about how you have to know mnemonica. can i do this with chased or some other stack? i also hear people talk about how there is a part that isnā€™t taught because it belongs to another magician. can i do this for just the 24 dollars or do i have to buy something else? nevermind, 3 things: can i do this with a year of magic experience?

    • 1. Jim answers: It requires a memorized stack, so a plain chased would not work. You are taught what you need to know to perform the effect. Can you do this with any amount of experience? That depends. Are you dedicated and willing to practice and rehearse until you know the effect inside and out?
    • 2. Todd answers: I bought this trick because I wanted motivation for learning mnemonica. This is a a fabulous introductory trick for mnemonica because you can control which card you start at so you don't have to worry about your first card being a random card in the stack and then having to calculate from there. You can always have the first card be a card in the stack order of your own choosing so it makes it much easier to know where the spectators card is located and what you have to do to get it to the right number. I am very excited about that idea because this is a beautiful effect that looks like you are doing nothing

  • Raphael asks: What is the difficulty level? on a scale of 1-10. Thanks

    • 1. Jim answers: That is always a subjective question. It depends on your skill level and your amount of experience as a performer. If you study the routine and practice with it, it will be within your difficulty level. If you don't study and don't practice, then the will be outside of your difficulty level.
    • 2. Todd answers: Can you riffle the cards one at at time? Can you dump the cards out of a card box with one hand? If you answered yes to those two questions, then you can learn the sleight and do the trick . The sleight that is taught is not difficult and is extremely well hidden and completely justified in the structure of the effect. Even if you do it much slower than Asi, and are sloppy, the way it is done and the timing is hard to catch. Even if the audience does see something, the timing of the slight is such that they are unlikely to be suspicious that you even did anything. They will just think you were sloppy in handling the deck. It is very clever.

  • Tim asks: Hi - do you need to know the stack off by heart or could you have a crib? Is it essential to know the order and where a card lies in the stack too? Thanks

    • 1. Sandy answers: You should learn the stack by heart. It is not that hard to learn. A crib would slow you down. Yes.

  • Charlie asks: A) Would you have to know a stack by heart or could you just be able to calculate where in the deck the card is? For instance I have a system where they could say a random card and I could calculate the position of the card (quickly) using the suit and value, would it work for this trick? B) You said the stack could be new deck. Would it still make an impressive trick, seeing as he shows the cards at the beginning?

    • 1. James answers: Knowing it by heart is best. Check out the Memory Arts book, if you need help knowing it by heart. I would personally not use the new deck order.

  • ģ •ģ„øė¦° asks: Is it possible with a borrowed card?

    • 1. Vanishing Inc. Magic responds: You'll have to use your own deck for this. However, if you're able to secretly setup a borrowed deck, then it is possible.
