"one of magic's best kept secrets."
- R. Paul Wilson

"In Giancarlo's hands, Magic moves to the rhythm of elegance, and this work is a clear example of that."
- Dani DaOrtiz

"His routines have an elegant and original structure"
- Bébel

Giancarlo Scalia is part of the Spanish school of magic. An elite group of magicians that push the envelope of magic further.

They don't just create new methods. They create justification, motivation, movements, timing and tactics of misdirection.

When absorbing their wisdom, you're always getting much more than the 'trick'.

In his debut Ellusionist release, Cuatro (meaning FOUR), Giancarlo teaches 4 of his favorite Ace Assembly routines. You will learn:

  • Undercover Ace Assembly - In this routine a single ace is placed under the cover of a napkin, postcard or coaster. One by one the remaining 3 aces vanish and when lifted with an empty hand, the other aces have magically arrived.
  •
  • Seven Card Assembly - As seen in the trailer, Seven Card Assembly is a flawless congregation of cards as the separated aces vanish one by one to join their leader ace, the ace of spades. The movements are slow and fair as the essence is stolen from each card impossibly. A must learn.
  •
  • Cards Under Spectator - The spectator freely selects any ace and you read this mind, but that's not the trick, you get them to sit on that ace as you trap the remaining 3 aces under the deck. With no more moves, the aces vanish completely and arrive underneath the spectator. Completely impromptu and utterly fooling.
  •
  • Russian Assembly - Like a Russian doll inside a Russian doll, this routine's performance is hidden inside your explanation to your audience. As you pretend to explain how it's done to your audience you're flawlessly performing it again, under impossible circumstances. This is Giancarlo's opening routine and the hidden gem of Cuatro that you'll perform most often.

Magic should be as much about 'why' as it is about 'what' and Cuatro reveals that.

A fresh view on classics and good tips on subtleties

Very well explained and with valuable contribution in theory.

Super clean ungimmicked Mcdonald Aces

Loved the vibe of this project. There is a lot of emphasis on subtleties and presentation, which really elevates the routines.

The 2nd routine is a super clean ungimmicked Mcdonalds aces routine. This one went straight into my impromptu card magic arsenal.

I was not a fan of the other 3 routines because they involve sleights that I'm not comfortable using in bulletproof everyday situations. This is not a knock at all, because the impromptu Mcdonald routine is WELL worth the price for me!

I think that Giancarlo will be the best magician in the world and i'm sure that this work will improve your magic, and your thought. So, finally this is a very interesting work, I hope you enjoy it!

one of the best downloads here

cuatro is by far the most worthwhile thing I've ever gotten from ellusionist. every explanation is in depth without being droning. the routines are absolutely beautiful but the real value of this dvd is the understanding of theory, structure , and flow it will give you. despite being primarily focused on slights the download is all about subtlety and really just what makes a performance "hit". you will only be doing yourself a disservice not buying this wonderfully filmed, wonderfully explained, and wonderfully performed project. I hope to see more from Giancarlo in the future.

I'm going to have to change my review on this... the subtleties are still worth the price of the download but the first and second routines have grown on me. I perform the second one regularly and it has become my "go to" after doing McDonald Aces or other impromptu versions that I perform. The first one I thought was sleight heavy at first, but I am now practicing it to incorporate it into my act.

The second routine is just so simple, so clean, and awesome because it uses just three black spot cards. If I do Mcdonald Aces, I will go into this to make people think and imply that Mcdonald Aces was just as clean. People often favor this routine over the McDonald Aces, which tells you something about it. The reactions are just that strong.

I've been searching for/ trying to come up with the perfect ungimmicked Ace Assembly for a long time... and this gentleman just comes and shares 4 routines better than all assemblies I've ever seen??? It's almost unfair to only pay 14,95 for such a deep understanding on psychology, theory, and the best takes on this astonishing plot. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

I liked this release from Ellusionist because of the subtleties but not so much the routines. First the subtleties are priceless and worth the price of the download in my opinion. I will be using several of them in doing the Elmsley count and other slights.

Now onto the routines... they are alright. I suppose that this is a matter of opinion but I much prefer some other versions like Cameron Francis (Strange Progression) and John Carey's version. I think that both of these are more natural in their handling and just as powerful.

The slights are an improvement, not so much the routines themselves.
